Do we need to make an appointment if we are interested in ordering a wedding cake?
Yes, wedding cake consultations and cake tastings are offered by appointment only. With an appointment, we can assure you space and time to look through our wedding albums and do our best to answer all of your questions. The best time to schedule your consultation is after you have made some of the major decisions for your event, including date, venue, and guest count.
Does the consultation and cake tasting cost anything?
The cake consultation is free. We usually make up to four cake samples for you. Two of them are free, and the other two would be $3/each. If you put down a deposit to buy a cake from us, we will not charge you for any of the samples.
What kind of cake flavors do you offer?
How do I go about choosing cake samples for the tasting appointment?
First go to the Cake Flavors tab to see a complete list of all of the cake flavors, fillings, and icings that we offer. Choosing one sample requires you to choose a cake flavor, a cake filling, and a cake icing. For example, one of our most popular options would be white cake, with raspberry bavarian cream filling, and buttercream frosting.
What happens at the appointment and what should I bring?
Once you arrive, we will bring out the cake samples that you had ordered prior to the appointment for you to try while you are looking through our wedding albums. After you've sampled and looked through the books, we will sit with you to answer questions and try to get a feel for your likes and dislikes. If you have pictures or designs already in mind, please bring them with you. Color swatches and ornamentation you may wish to use in the cake design are also good things to bring.
At this point, we are happy to give you a price quote (which is good for 90 days). You are under no obligation to order or book your cake. We want you to be comfortable with your decision. However, if you decide not to order at this time, we will ask you to make another appointment - even though you may know exactly what you want. We only ask qualified staff to write orders and we need to ensure that one is available for you upon ordering.
I have seen wedding cakes displayed on round or square stands. Do you have them available?
We have a few different options for displaying your cake. The most popular are our silver cake stands that can be rented from the bakery. We do have a limited quantity and it can be reserved when your date is confirmed with us .
How far do you deliver, how much does it cost, and when does the cake arrive?
We deliver throughout Los Angeles County, parts of Orange County, and parts of Ventura County. Our delivery fee is based upon the distance traveled. The fee can range from $20.00 to $185.00. We typically deliver a minimum of 1 - 2 hours prior to your event. The actual time of delivery varies depending on the availability of the room, possible coordination with a florist, and other deliveries.
Do I have to place my order in person?
For wedding cakes, we highly recommend that you schedule an appointment for a cake tasting and consultation. If need be, we can also discuss your cake over the phone. All other celebratory cakes can be ordered via phone.
Do you make other cakes besides wedding cakes?
Yes. We specialize in custom cakes for all occasions including birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, bridal showers, baptisms and first communions, graduations, and corporate events.
Do you offer cake tasting appointments for other celebrations?
We offer cake tasting appointments if you are looking to order a multi-tiered cake for any event.
Can I walk in to your retail store and purchase a cake on the spot?
Yes. We offer a variety of 8" dessert cakes that are made daily and ready for pick up. We can also quickly write on these cakes for you in the event you need a cake for a special occasion. Please visit the Other Goodies tab for a complete list of our ready-made dessert cakes.
